Is it just like any other standardized test? How confident were you walking out? I have to take the biology one sometime this fall and was thinking about buying a study guide

Study guide not necessary.

I wouldn't study. Heck it's almost a crapshoot most times. I've known smart people to fail and dummies to pass easily.

That's what I'm afraid of. I know A&P like the back of my hand but if the test is 75% which plant phylum is this then I'm failing miserably ha

I took the SS one with absolutely no study time whatsoever and passed it. Apples and oranges but it can be done. I probably wouldn't advise it though. Are you just getting into teaching? I just got out after 5 years.

Yeah I'm getting my masters right now and doing the alternative route. I really just want to coach basketball but wouldn't mind teaching high school science
Why'd you get out if you don't mind me asking

Mine consisted mostly of history I had not studied since high school. So I thought I failed miserably.

Which alternate route are you doing? I just completed part 1 of the Teach Mississippi Institute back in May.

Same. How is it? Any tips? Also any idea how many they accepted with you?

Your going the same route as I but I wanna coach college.
Theres a small school in south Arkansas you can earn your bachelors and after that earn Masters in coaching. The Masters degree is only 1 year online.

Easy. 12 weeks of online work on blackboard. Quizzes and a short paper almost every week. Quizzes are timed but you can easily look in the book for answers or google. Papers are only 500 words and you can just paraphrase what's in the book and talk about your experiences while observing. Hardest thing was probably the lesson plans and discipline reports. Doing the 60 hours of observation sucked too but you get to pick the school you work in. My professor in the program was also my high school A&P teacher so she never graded my stuff hard. Lastly, there's 2 mandatory meetings. One in Oxford and the other in Jackson. I'd say there was close to 100 of us this past spring, maybe more.
