And if you go ahead and knock out the praxis now, it'll all be smooth sailing. At the first meeting in February, I was one of like five people that had taken both the praxis 1 and 2.

It just happened. Dr. Sarah Lacy Trotman taught at Oxford High for years and since she retired she's been working with TMI I think. And I chose to observe my old government teacher at Oxford. It was 60 hours of me sitting in the corner of the class lounging, basically.

Easy. 12 weeks of online work on blackboard. Quizzes and a short paper almost every week. Quizzes are timed but you can easily look in the book for answers or google. Papers are only 500 words and you can just paraphrase what's in the book and talk about your experiences while observing. Hardest thing was probably the lesson plans and discipline reports. Doing the 60 hours of observation sucked too but you get to pick the school you work in. My professor in the program was also my high school A&P teacher so she never graded my stuff hard. Lastly, there's 2 mandatory meetings. One in Oxford and the other in Jackson. I'd say there was close to 100 of us this past spring, maybe more.

Which alternate route are you doing? I just completed part 1 of the Teach Mississippi Institute back in May.

Thanks, Bears. I had a job interview at the high school today. Sadly, there are no open football assistant positions open.

Nobody cares what Al Sharpton has to say. At all.
I don't think a flag divides us either. I'm assuming it just lets most of us know where we aren't wanted.

Sometimes, it feels like people think black people are behind the way main stream media reports. It's like they think all these places have all black staffs who only focus on white on black crime.

I never thought of First 48 as a reliable source. Thanks man.

Not sure why outrage for one situation but not the other?
When a black person kills another black person, any and all suspects will be rounded up and there will likely be a prosecution.
When a cop kills someone, they are put on paid administrative leave while an "investigation" goes on.
That's the difference.

You're painting with a very broad brush.
Anyone who is raised in an affluent home to parents of any race have a better chance at success. White people aren't the only ones that can be affluent.
Education isn't valued because of the shitty school systems in majority black neighborhoods which carries over to the homes. Black parents aren't out here teaching us about slavery and how we need reparations at a majority. Two parent homes are down in every race. All children who succeed are mocked. Kids suck. Mocking is what they do.

Don't want to be thought of as a thug. I'm 6'3, 240 with dreads. People assume I'm either a football player or thug. That goes for white and black people.

Might be a troll thread but I definitely see where your friend (imaginary maybe :dunno:) is coming from. I find myself letting people know I have a degree pretty soon in a conversation to kind of get rid of any stereotypes that they might have previously been thinking about.

What's the best way to post pictures here? My best friend from high school is in town and he played for FSU's NC team. Thought you guys might like to see the rings.
