So even the rich and wealthy in Georgia are perfectly fine with inbreeding. Good to know.

I've never understood with how patriotic Georgians claim to be, why they have an English Bulldog. Why not an American Bulldog
good question. English bulldogs are so genetically messed up. I have a 3 year old american bulldog, best dog ever. And not a dog you would want to mess with.

What did you expect some French fluffy poodle? Georgia was named in honor of King George the 2nd.

Perfectly fitting.

I like how you go from bulldog to a fluffy poodle even though an American bulldog was already suggested. Much better dog.

american bulldog, slightly more intimidating than English bulldog. Also, its nemesis is not sleep apnea.

They had a goat once, it's still better than a box rooster now isn't it.

An American Bulldog makes a ton of sense (in fact, one of our old logos fro the 90s/early 2000a was an American Bulldog-like dog) but at this point, it's all about tradition. You can't go from a frumpy dog like there has been to a tall, lean sumbitch like an American Bulldog. It just wouldn't be the same.

Believe me, I'd be all for having this fricking death machine standing by the endzone. We'd just name them all Herschel. Herschel I, Herschel II, etc.

Gotta love the offseason...

I found it interesting that Mississippi State had a live bulldog mascot first...1935. While UGA's only dates back to 1956.

Both dogs are English Bulldogs, albeit MSU's is brown and white, while UGA is all white.

There have been 20 Bully's to ten UGA's.

Does Uga still get transported from Savannah? I read that the owner died last year. Wasn't sure how that tradition continued after that.

I give Georgia fans shite about the inbreeding, but Uga is still my third favorite live mascot in the SEC.

Yes, in a custom made red ford expedition. The trunk is specifically designed for Uga's carrier and has customized AC portals built into the back for the dog. The car also has a specialized license plate from the state. When they arrive in Athens, the dog has its own specialized hotel room in the campus hotel where the team will be staying starting this Fall.

The line was started and has been owned by the Seiler family of Savannah. Sonny Seiler, the originator, is still alive but his wife Cecelia passed away last year. Presumably, their children will carry it on when Sonny passes.

I'm pretty sure it's a Suburban... Unless they bought a new transporter since last year.

It may be a Chevy. I just assumed Ford due to the partnership between UGA and Ford.
