If Retin left after his junior year, he would've likely been headed to a similar school. Just because someone transfers to a mid-major doesn't mean they belong there.

Exactly. I mean Collins transferred to Morehead after his first year at LSU.

Look, I'm not saying that Collins is a bad thing. I'm excited about the addition...but he will be here for just a single season. If you look at the stats, Coleman and Collins had nearly mirror image stats from their first 2 seasons. As a SO, Collins averaged 1 more point than Coleman playing in the OVC while JC avg'd 1 more assist while playing a min less per game.

My point is that discarding a player based on first and year stats is silly. Look at the way Jamareo Davidson improved over his tenure: he didn't have a great low post game when he got here but ended up being really good on the block and his midrange improved drastically. Who's to say JC wouldn't have improved his ability to finish at the rim?

If I have a choice between Collins in only 16-17 and Coleman for 2 more years, I go Coleman every time. Maybe that's just me, and I could be completely off here.

And for the person that said Riley Norris is overrated...maybe his play isn't the best or flashiest, but nobody on the team gives more effort than that guy.

But that is exactly what I am talking about. People try to act like he is something more than a meh glue guy that tries hard and occasionally gets hot from 3.
