Of course the goal has been to put final 4 and championship banners in the rafters. It always has been...but how many are up in Coleman?

Right now, we can't criticize our players in their early years so much. I saw a lot of criticism with Coleman when he left and while he was streaky, he was asked to do too much as a PG with virtually 0 scoring threats around him. A PG cannot survive that way, especially one as small as he is.

I guess what I'm getting at is that as Bama fans, we can't hold these expectations that we should win like we do in football, especially right now. It takes time to build a great program and we will have to build with 3 and 4 year players imo. Development is key.

There is a reason he transferred to Samford

I'd argue we overrate some of our guys (Norris feels like the best example), more so than underrate them

This was true for everyone if Retin wasn't on the floor last year.

Look, I think Coleman was fine, but to me Collins is an upgrade at the position especially because we're talking about our backup PG.

I don't get why you want to compare the two at all. You're the only one bringing up the football team.

Development is key, and I think a good comparison needs to be a program like Michigan State. They recruit blue chip talent, but groom them over a number of years to build a sustainable level of success.
