I disagree and the reason I say I disagree because we didn't really know who he was going after. He wouldn't put any info out. I mean all of the good players we got basically were in state guys or out of state guys that the major college in their state didn't want like Releford and Hale. Ill say one thing people say he didn't play the game but I know for a fact that he played it to get Trevor Lacey.

I agree with Bird. I remember when he was criticized for slow playing guys like Jacorey Williams. Many felt he concentrated on too many national guys. The same recruiting tweets were there about Grant in the beginning. He didn't work for us. No need to pile on and rewrite history. It's cool the staff is all over the place, but I quit won't be impressed until these highly rated recruits start committing.

No coach puts out that info, nor can they. Social media does, and they did put out a lot of info on who Grant was after as well.

That has nothing to do with him not going after the highly-rated guys. Like I said, his downfall was focusing too much on the big fish that we went hungry at the end of most classes.

I'm not sure what you've been told, but I'm pretty sure Lacey was just pressured into going to Alabama by everyone around him (family, friends, his HS coach, Levi, etc.). I thought that the moment he announced it. That was the most forced smile I've ever seen after a commitment. His eyes looked full of regret.
