I'm not sure, but they finished 5-7 that year.

edit: Just looked it up and they were 97th in TOP. I don't know how to explain that, but something's obviously funny, when you consider their record.

edit2: Figured it out. They were 115th in offense, averaging only 269 ypg and 17 ppg. That's still impressive, but if they can't score, you have to think the other team wasn't real worried about playing hard on offense.

Well, considering TN had the #107 Scoring Offense, I would say the Defense really wasn't to blame for the poor record.

I think it's really reaching to suggest that maybe UT's opponents didn't score much because they just didn't think they had to.
