re: Laremy Tunsil's step-dad has a prior domestic violence charge against him

It isn't that people don't see what the guy is doing. It's that everyone on the board knows Tunsil received improper benefits. Which makes it more likely that there is some truth to his claims, regardless of how shitty his motives may be. The NCAA getting tipped off by an a-hole is still the NCAA getting tipped off, the a-hole part is so irrelevant that nobody will ever remember his name. Which is why he's doing shite like selling pictures to TMZ.

Bryan Allen also had a history of being a slimy piece of shite. Didn't make his accusations of Gurley any less true.

Um, no. That's not the point. He says he did nothing violent against Tunsil's mother and Tunsil beat him because he wouldn't allow him to go with agents anywhere. He has a prior arrest for domestic violence, showing that he has engaged in the sort of behavior before. Therefore, it hurts his credibility in saying that he never pushed Tunsil's mom, and also makes you look at the real reasons he's attempting to push these allegations or if he has actual information to give. I'm amazed I have to type that out for someone to understand.

At least that's what Tunsil's lawyer will argue to the NCAA.
The counter argument is that Tunsil and his mom knew of the 13 year old charge and chose to claim he hit her, too, in order to discredit anything he might say.
Discredit the witness all you want, the NCAA only cares if they think Tunsil received improper benefits and they don't have to have a rock solid witness to do it.
Best thing to do for your mental health as an OM fan is to get your head around the idea that you are now in a kangaroo court. Lawful proceedings and logic doesn't mean shite here. If the NCAA huddles up and just feels like you must be up to no good, prepare to bend over.

It's literally something anyone can look up. That's not spin. The "obvious money grab" part is, but not the fact that the dude has a domestic violence arrest on his record.

A guy turns in ole miss for cheating and then this reporter brings up something that happened 12 years ago... What a shitty person..

OJ wasn't convicted either

I know your trying to be hopeful but rarely does the NCAA come to campus and not come away with something.. Not looking good for the da bears my friend.

True. I think half of Ole Miss fans beef with this is just how the stepfather is seen as the honest one in this story and his word is taken as gospel. I have no fricking clue what the dude has or doesn't have. I just know that you can't believe all of what any side has to say. shite will come out when it comes out.

Everybody cheats. We all know that. But every time somebody else's team gets their feet put to the fire, the entire Rant (excluding fans of the team in question, of course) descends on the topic like a murder of sexually-aroused blood crows.
It's fun to watch. Probably not so much fun to be on the other side of (I wouldn't know because nobody gives enough of a damn to hunt down Vandy cheaters) but don't worry -- soon somebody else's team will get hit and you can join in the priapic maiming fest.

Exactly how I feel. Did we cheat to get Tunsil? Absolutely. Does this guy have any evidence to hurt Ole Miss? Hell no.
How do you know this?

[quote]Obvious money grab[quote/]
How is this an obvious money grab? By wrecking the step son's college eligibility, hurting his draft stock by alleging that he is guilty of domestic violence, and by generally alienating himself from the soon to be NFL player?
Where do you find this garbage?

That's my main problem. People are defending this dude like he is some kind of saint and that everything he says is the gospel truth. If you think we cheated that's fine but acting like this guy is being 100% honest is just hilarious

So why did Tunsil beat up the NFL agents again? I haven't been following the story.
Posted on 7/6/15 at 5:49 pm to logjamming
Because boosters pay people to shut up of they claim they have evidence of something and he sold pictures to TMZ. Keep up buckeye.

Look at Gurley and Bryan Allen. Dude was clearly out to get Gurley due to a money issue and he had a history of paying for autographs with past players. Didn't make his accusations any less true. Hate the guy all you want, but accept the fact now that he may be right. It'll make the potential for disaster a lot easier to accept later.

Because we would have been caught by now if there were any paper trails. This isn't the first time Tunsil's recruitment has been looked into

I, for one, am shocked that a guy who would hit a woman and turn in her son for wrongdoing might have a history of doing other shitty, possibly illegal things.
Those guys are dangerous because they do stupid things against their own interest out of some silly principle of manliness or "honor" in the bastardized version of that word. Hopefully for the Ole Miss faithful, it is just smoke by an angry dude that got punked. If not, this incident could be a Petrino-type one that sets the team back for a few seasons.
