Depends on what stage of life you are in.

College Student- Athens
Young Professional- Nashville
Raising a Family- Auburn
Retirement- Fayetteville

Middle-aged single liberal a-hole- Columbia, MO seems like a good fit.

Why would you say Fville for retirement?

NWA's median age, as of the 2010 census, is 33.0 while for the country it's 37.2 and for the rest of Arkansas it's 37.4.

This stat would currently skew to put NWA even younger today, as we've gained 7-8,000 more college students from Texas in the past 5 years.

As much as I want to move away to Portland, SLC, San Jose/Santa Cruz, NYC, Dallas, OC, or even San Diego or LV there's a lot going on in NWA for young professionals and raising families. Finally there's some real movement in Venture Capital happening here in NWA. Arkansas was dreadfully slow to the party on VC, but there's a lot of support happening now for start ups and expansion phases.

Back to the original topic...

Quality of life is so ambiguous and impossible to define in general terms. It's all the things that are important to you and make you happy.
