Go to Q39 for BBQ. It's new on the KC BBQ scene but it's good stuff. Go to Fiorella's Jack Stack for a little more upscale BBQ dining.
As far as attractions go, there's really no way to be bored in KC if you use your resources. Check out the city's website...it has a list of attractions.
Crown Center Plaza shopping district, Country Club Plaza, national college basketball hall of fame at Sprint Center, Royals/Sporting KC, Nelson Atkins art museum, negro leagues baseball museum, power and light district, bars in Westport, KC Zoo, Worlds of Fun, Boulevard Brewery, etc.
