How in the world is AU the greatest overachiever?

We are a top 10-12 program in CFB history. While being the #2 school in a poor state that produces modest football players.

Oh, the #1 school what we compete against is either the best or second best program in the country.

We have always played the most difficult schedules in the SEC and for years and years played bama, UT, UGA, and Florida every year while the Vandy, Kentucky, Ole Miss's etc... rarely rotated on the schedule.

We have 3 undefeated seasons in the last 20 years (more than any other team in the SEC and equaled only by Nebraska, though their last was 17 years ago).

We won a national title by going undefeated in arguably the most difficult division ever. We went undefeated in 2004 dominating as much as any SEC team has in recent memory and have the best claim to a national title that season. We also easily have the best claim to a national title in 1983 and were :13 away from what could have been another less than two years ago.

Imagine what we would do as the state school in a football factory like Georgia.

Spare me. You're less than an hour from the GA border and an hour and a half from Atlanta. Know how far Athens is from Atlanta? An hour and a half.

And we have played y'all, Ga Tech, UF, and a mixture of Tennessee and Clemson most every year. Unless you're going to give me a breakdown of all of our opponents over the past 25 years and definitively prove that Auburn has been fighting the most uphill of battles, I'm not buying the "our schedule has been the most difficult" argument. Everyone plays tough games at different times of the year.

And one national title to show for it. So either your SOS hasn't been as tough as you'd like to think or the voters must not have thought as highly of Auburn as Auburn fans do.

It helps to have arguably the best SEC QB ever (or does that excuse only work with UGA and the Herschel years?)

No trophy, no claim (at least that's what I keep getting told when we try to claim the 1942 title).

And we were 5 yards away in 2012. shite happens and everyone but you and I forget about the could-have-beens.

Probably bumblefrick your way through mediocre seasons, an occasional losing season, and some really good years. Just like UGA and AUburn have been doing
