In my mind, the biggest improvement on the offensive side of the ball is going to come from the Dave Christensen hire. Not Kyle having another year in the system, not any new player, not something from Spav.

#1, he's going to have our talented OL actually performing like it, instead of looking like unmotivated, discombobulated sacks of flesh as they did last year.
#2, you better believe he has a lot of input on play design and scheme. We'll have a much more well-constructed running game and make use of tight ends. When he was at Mizzou they had an offense that I lusted after: spread, but with teeth.

I went to Utah at Colorado last year and I really liked what I saw form his offense there as well.

tend to agree

Many probably don't realize the origins of the Air Raid but it came from the 80s BYU offense. Mumme/Leach substituted midget slot receivers for TEs because there were a ton of athletes no one recruited bc they were too small. It was brilliant as most defenses didn't have guys that could cover the Wes Welker's of the world

But we've evolved. Now guys like Quiv are highly recruited. And TEs are completely forgotten. Mizzou made a living off this. And there are a ton of bigger guys that no one recruits any more.

We can recruit who we want. So DC is bringing back the original TEs to the offense. And unlike Valdosta, UK, TTU or whomever, we can recruit elite ones. Against teams that try to play small against us (like LSU has), we can go heavy with TEs and against teams that are big (like Bama) we can go slots.
