Anyone here read Wheat Belly, or are on a non-wheat diet?

Just curious of thoughts and, obviously, anecdotal experiences.
I am thinking of reducing my wheat consumption in an effort to reduce the waist line, but I don't want to eliminate it altogether to get the health benefits of some whole grains.
So is modern wheat a poison or do you not buy into that shite?

Honestly I don't know what or who to believe. I do know one person with a legit wheat allergy and thru her I have discovered just how many foods contain wheat.

It is snake oil.
Your waist line is a result of falling testosterone levels due to age, hormones produced by stress, and alcohol consumption.

I did it. took a little bit for my body to get used to, but once it did I felt a lot better than I did when I was eating gluten. however like with any diet you can't sustain it, say no to diets.
but brown rice definitely is a better option than whole grain bread. so I still do brown rice over bread every chance I get.

While there may be some few people who are sensitive to wheat/gluten, the mania surrounding the issue is insane. The best way to know if you need to avoid gluten is to be tested by your personal physician.
If you are allergic then you cut gluten out of your diet, not just cut back. I think the driving force behind the current anti-gluten fad is that so many people think it's the reason for their obesity. They seem to figure that if gluten isn't in their foods then they can eat all they want.

My gym writes my diets for me. Wheat and sugar are never in them. For carbs I do wild rice, potatoes, or oats. A wheat-free diet is absolutely sustainable, but you have to do your food prep.

There is nothing wrong with gluten, period.
Loading up on carbs of any kind are going to make you fat.

I'm outright allergic to it
Sucks arse cause I can't drink beer, eat pizza at 3 am, or eat a lot of good college food.
Plus side, liquor fricks you up faster.

If you want to lose weight then eat Greek yogurt for breakfast and tuna for dinner. Eat food with lots of protein.
The end.
The end.

It does you no good to limit your intake. Cut it out completely or don't do it at all. I don't mean that as an "all or nothing" attitude works best. I mean that gluten will stay in your system and won't help you
