The Kick 6 led to an epic AU choke job. Langham's play led to one of the greatest beatdown's in Title game history, punking the Dynasty in the process. It was the beginning of the SEC ruling football.

Yeah, well...except the 90's Nebraska dynasty was just roaring up as they won in '94, '95, '97.

SEC dominance didn't begin until about 15 years later when florida beat down ohio state. regarding the greatest play in SEC history, my understanding is there was a 91 yard run by georgia in the early 80s thats more famous than the langham interception. I think the kick 6 is the answer to the OP question though.

Flukey regular season wins over Alabama, the pinnacle of Auburn football lore.

Between 1990-2005, four different teams from the SEC won national championships: Alabama (1992), Florida (1996), Tennessee (1998), and LSU (2003).

Every other conference within that time period couldn't claim more than two different teams.

In terms of national championships, the SEC was the most dominant conference in the 15-year period BEFORE Florida blew away Ohio State, too.
