I think you're looking at it as me saying he was a shitbag at UGA and a saint at Auburn, and I'm not.

I get that, I don't think that's what you're saying.

there are immature kids in new environments who do dumb stuff and can become corrupted if they don't find a way to pull out of bad behavior.

If anything, this would prove that they were reformed BEFORE they came to auburn, not during. Take marshall. He's young and immature, ok...he gets to UGA, he fricks up, and is punished by getting kicked off the team and having to transfer away from his home state and friends. Him staying on the straight and narrow at AU is more an indication he learned from his past mistakes (ie, getting kicked out of UGA) than it is him getting some life coaching lessons at auburn.

Cam and Marshall both were involved in theft-ish behavior, got a fresh start, and really matured.

Well, cam stole a laptop but otherwise didn't seem to have any other issues whatsoever. He made one mistake. Him not stealing any more computers while at AU doesn't really mean AU did anything. And marshall didn't really mature, seeing as how he was detained with weed in the car while at AU.

We set out expectations, which they almost entirely fulfilled, and often exceeded.

Again, you can pin a major portion of this on their former schools. When they're 18 and go to a school (say UGA in this case) they probably think they're bulletproof. They mess up, and we kick them out of school, now their brain says "hey, my actions DO have consequences. Time to straighten up". So them getting a talking to at AU saying "hey, don't frick up again. Be good" and them being good doesn't really reflect much on auburn, IMO.

I certainly think they left Auburn on a better trajectory than when they entered AU.

Well, when they enter AU having been kicked out of another school, then leave AU in good standing with a chance to play in the NFL...yeah it's not really difficult to make that statement.

Well Cam probably didn't actually steal a laptop, but nonetheless. I'll give credit for half of the process, I do think getting kicked out/disciplined in Marshall's situation was what set him up to be welcomed at AU and grow into a leader here.

I don't put the weed thing in the same category as stealing, so I don't know how good of an argument that is. I think he obviously matured, as he was doing little to nothing good at UGA, got kicked out, came to Auburn and overcame some bumps to become both a good player and a solid leader who his coaches and players could depend on.

I think you'd have to be pretty biased not to think Cam and Marshall improved as people while at Auburn. If you don't want to give Auburn credit for it I can live with that, but it's pretty obvious that two dumb young kids grew up during their tenures here.
