No real football fan that knows that year believes AU was not national champ. Literally dozens of writers from across the nation have acknowledged and written articles that the AP voters fricked up in 1983. Hell, a sports illustrated writer said so a week after the game and called for a playoff. It was the last article of that issue after the polls came out.

And yes, people incorrectly thought 1983 Nebraska was a great team. Do you want me to link their opponents rankings? I think they played 2 teams in the top 50 the entire damn season. It was pitiful. And they still couldn't finish with a better record than an AU team that played a historically and unbelievably tough schedule.

It's a joke. I get it. Your just a gump and will do anything, lie, cheat, defend the indefensible or whatever if you think it makes bama look better or Daddy not look as good.

Well, I'm here to tell you right now, trying to argue AU was not the true national champ of 1983 is indefensible and you will simply embarrass yourself.

32 years is a long time to be butthurt, TiM. Y'all did have arguably the GOAT college player in 2010 and won an undisputed national championship in that same season.

It's time to let it go, bud.

Except they weren't.

You can argue that they SHOULD have been the national champs, but to argue that they WERE is to simply ignore the system that did NOT choose them.
