It's a really good idea for a program to do, and it's trending big time.
Nebraska and Penn State have already done it (great stadiums). West Virginia might have just finished theirs
Arizona State is about to build a ridiculous stadium. after partnering with the Cubs. I know Arizona moved into a minor league park, albeit it's not new.

It makes a lot of sense for schools located near minor league teams.

I'm pretty sure that deal fell through. ASU just signed on to play at Phoenix Municipal for the next 20-something years i believe...
Loved the idea though...
