Kona is badass. havent been there in forever. my brothers ankle is all metal over a trip there about 5+ yrs ago. he was fearless as frick before that happened. But we're from Sav obviously and everybody around there skates kona all the time

f you hang around there enough this summer you'll run into some of the kids that are seriously badass in that place - most of them have grown up skating it for the last 10 years

I bet. Its always a good time watching guys chew up a local spot theyve been skating forever. especially a compact setup like that

There was a kid that walked up from the trails behind the park and skated with us yesterday . he had a pack on and had been sleeping in one of those hammock tent things for a couple days and just skating during the day. pretty damn cool really

thats pretty eery. we have a good bit in common. we should pm sometime. I don't know how your progression is going but stay active man. I cant imagine a better way to manage it than skating regularly as much as you can

Unrelated, but have you watched that clip of that 12yr old out in cali landing that 1080 a few years ago. Im sure you have. I still watch that shite from time to time and get chills I thought about that when you posted the pic of your kid

Activity is how I'm treating it - just keeping going and doing everything fun that gets presented to me. My son and I are starting surf lessons this summer. Aside from skating, I'm always hiking up here or doing work on my friends' farm, keeping positive and not slowing down for shite.

Yeah, that's a sick vid for sure. My son is pretty fearless and he doesn't get phased too much by a bad fall. Actually won the "Tank" award at Kona camp last year for taking some pretty rough spills and getting right back up and going at it. He's tenacious and that's gonna serve him in a lot of positive ways throughout his life.

We should try to get together for a session at SPOA some time this summer. I think you have my email, but if not shoot me one sometime to folk_smith@hotmail.com.

Speaking of great vids, Grant Taylor is one of the sickest guys around right now. I bought my first set up from his dad in 1987 at Stratosphere and I remember Grant as a little shite skating out in front of his dad's place when I lived in L5P back in 2001-2003. Since you know how gnarly Kona can be, you'll appreciate this one:

Grant disaster
