ASU has the worst case of lil bro syndrome in the country. It's pretty pathetic. I feel bad for anybody in Jonesboro. That place just flat out sucks. When Memphis is the only nearby place to "visit" you know you're in a shithole. NWA 4 lyfe

The ASU-Arkansas relationship is very similar to the ULL-LSU relationship so I feel your pain. And yeah, Jonesboro is basically a cultural wasteland but you never really realize that until you move away.

Yeah, they have these vast conspiracy theories that Broyles kept them from earning academic accreditation for fear of the uprising of their football program.

None of which is true, they were DII forever when it was policy to no play DII schools so Arkansas didn't play them UCA, Tech, or the other DII schools in the state.

They had like one really good year in the 70s and convinced themselves Arkansas was too scared to play them. When they finally moved up to D1 after the split in the 80s (D1-AA) they thought Arkansas should play them every year to help build their program up, same when they moved to D1-A in the 90s.

They bitched about it being unfair we play games in WMS, so they tried 10 years ago playing Okie State in LR, they didn't sell enough tickets to pay the fricking rent and WMS cancelled their contract, which of course they blame Arkansas for.

Arkansas set up a series with OU and Okie state in Verizon Arena for basketball we would play one, stAte would play the other in a double header for four years (each played the other Oklahoma schools twice), again stAte couldn't sell enough tickets to pay their end of the rent and Arkansas ended up having to buyout them out of the contract, pay their rent, and play out the remainder of the contract at Verizon (against OSU) we ended up with a shite ton of home and away games with OU as a result (who the frick wants to go to Norman?).

But it was only because Arkansas does everything in their power to hold them back.
