Defensive?
I just wanted you to clarify your statement. Why do you have to try to shift your own insecurities on me? If you don't know the personal Auburn has on defense, then why did you bring it up?

Also humorous that the OP that I was replying to questioned our defense which, while shaky at times, has shown far more consistency than Auburn's. But those aren't question marks or anything, right?

Isn't your whole defense, outside of Carl Lawson, practically a big question mark?
It's laughable to say that isn't it? They had one of the worst defenses last year, will be installing a new system with a new coach. So yes , their whole d is a huge questions mark. Plus, on offense, new starting QB, sure he's been hyped but no one really know how he will do as the starter, question mark at qb just like most other west teams. Plus how will the new RB, WR and online guys perform. Seems like they have just as many questions as anyone else. Plus they lost what 5 games and 4 of the last 5.. So also don't have positive momentum like an Arkansas could claim.

It's possible LSU finishes that far down but and let's compare last year's teams to this years. LSU will be better this season - no mass exodus of underclassmen, return of sold OL and talented RBS and WRS, great D. Ole Miss and Miss State won't be as good as last season. Arkansas might be a bit better. Bama - maybe same as last year, with big drop on offense but better defense. Auburn - same as last year, but problems on D and new QB TXAM- not sure but long way to go on defense. And play Florida again who likely field a bad team. This is one way to look at it but it's still all about the matchups. LSU cannot score but the SEC QB class next year is weak and I don't see anyone lighting up the scoreboard. We will see

Y'all will be worse. No Chavis. Without Chavis y'all don't beat Ole Miss or Texas A&M last year and you're last in the west. It is exactly where you'd finish this season if State didn't lose so many people.

I know my team. LSU will definitely be better. Return entire offense with 2 stars at receiver, and several other good ones. OL will be just as good with 3 very good lineman returning, with lots of depth. QB position cannot be any worse. LSUS D was good the past two years but wasn't as good and deep upfront as usual, and gave up rushing yards at times. I expect the front 7 to be tough and deep this year forcing weak QBS to throw on our great secondary.

You had the best defense in the SEC last year. That won't be the case this year. Kevin Steele. Lolz.

Yeah. Our defense returns seven starters from the #6 ranked scoring defense while Auburn returns eight starters from a defense that ended at #62. Personally, I'd rather have seven from a top ten defense than eight from a below top 50 defense, but that is probably the Bammer homer in me.

So my bet is that LSU won't have a top ten ranked defense on the country and the top ranked defense in the SEC? What are we betting? How confident are you? I bet $1 to win a $100? Done.

... Than last year. This is a new season. Go look at Matt Stafford's freshman numbers and apply that same logic.
Brandon Harris lives up to his potential this year and the Tigers finish 11-1 or 10-2. Bookmark it.

You mean $1000, right? You want to bet me $1000 dollars that Kevin Steele engineers a top ten defense and the top ranked SEC defense? Are you serious? I'm down. For sure. I just can't figure out why you would do that.

Out worst team in the last 15 years and worst quarterback in school history dominated your Aggies at your place, so any confidence you have that your guys will do any better than fifth in the west is purely delusional.
