In my opinion if an SEC team goes undefeated, or only has one loss to another good SEC team, they should have an automatic bid into the final four, regardless of their non conference schedule. They could decide to play only FCS schools and go undefeated in conference play and still have a lock for a spot over another undefeated school from another conference. The reason for my thoughts is because of the insane grind that is the SEC. Week in and week out teams are forced to play against high caliber teams with strong fan bases and intense bragging rights on the line. There is no other conference in college football like this so to the victor should go ultimate spoils.
I feel like this is a big deal because I have heard multiple people speak on how they feel like if Ohio State goes undefeated they are an obvious lock. Well I do give them credit on being defending national champions, but their hardest non conference game is Virginia Tech. After that they play some schools and are in a weak conference. Should they be allowed in over a one loss Auburn team who has to grind through the SEC? Thats just my opinion so let me know what you think.

Good luck going undefeated in the SEC these days, I don't care who you are. Very difficult.

I've pointed out how weak the "grind" argument is on multiple occasions. Most of the time these tough opponents are scheduled after bye weeks/glorified bye weeks against directional schools. Not always, and overall the SEC schedule is better than the B1G schedule. But this year OSU plays MSU and Michigan back to back weeks.
Look up who Bama/Auburn/Florida etc are playing the weekend before rivalry week. (Auburn plays Idaho, Bama plays Charleston Southern, Florida plays FAU, South Carolina plays The Citadel, UGA Plays Georgia Southern)
Those are 5 of your teams in the middle of the "grind" who are playing absolute jokes in November, getting another bye week. It's smart scheduling by the SEC for sure, and I'm not really blaming them, but don't give me the "insane grind" when you have The Citadel in mid November
Edit: And any team who goes undefeated basically has a pass, Baylor would have last year too

Likelihood of ANY team going unbeaten is fairly low.
