Since 1990 we have had the following QBs start at least one game at Alabama:

Gary Hollingsworth (1990)
Danny Woodson (1991)
Jay Barker (1991-1994)
Brian Burgdorff (1993, 1995)
Freddie Kitchens (1995-1997)
John David Phillips (1998)
Andrew Zow (1998-2001)
Tyler Watts (1999-2002)
Brodie Croyle (2002-2005)
Brandon Avalos (2003)
Spencer Pennington (2003-2004)
Marc Guillon (2004)
John Parker Wilson (2006-2008)
Greg McElroy (2009-2010)
AJ McCarron (2011-2013)
Blake Sims (2014)

We haven't exactly been spoiled for choice.

There is no way to know how many or if any of these people would have become successful NFL QBs had they gone to another school that demanded more of them. But it would be folly to assume it is exclusively the fault of the player.

We are operating on 3 facts

1. Alabama recruits a lot of really good players
2. Alabama converts a lot of these really good players into NFL players
3. None of these NFL players are QBs

I wonder if any national title winning team in the last 25 years has a less impressive list. Wow.
