There are plenty of B1G alumni that live in the Dallas market and there are plenty of Oklahoma alumni in Dallas as well. That will lead to an increase in people paying for the network.
How? Seriously how?
Cable companies order the network, NOT end consumers. Tell me how getting OU gets you in-state rates in another state. I will give you a clue- it doesn't.
Again you are smarter than this. I know it.
Heck I wish you were right, I see OU in the SEC after T Boone dies and I hate it.

How can one school, needing eight other votes to change anything, force the other schools "to leave or comply"?
Could it be... because Texas A&M, Nebraska and Oklahoma voted with Texas every step of the way?
Your hypocrisy is nauseating.

Cable companies in Dallas already allow consumers to order the B1G Network. Just like how I pay for the SEC Network here in WI.

Because just like a Bama, or a USC, or a Ohio St, if y'all took your ball and left the conference the Tier 1 TV deal would have been fricked. And you know that, you just like pretending those votes are equal and mean something because otherwise Texas is an indefensible bully. It was eight votes against two (us and Mizzou) and we knew we would be outvoted because for a Kansas St. or a Baylor or ANY of the rest without other options the LHN was better than being a mid major. Heck even OU TRIED to leave but couldn't.
You are right, we didn't have to vote for it. We didn't even try to stop it. Instead we left. What is wrong with that? We finally didn't agree with Texas on something and left. All the previous yes votes doesn't negate that.
Why should we have stayed and been out voted and fricked over when we had options? As you say, the Big 12 serves Texas and will exist as long as it serves Texas. Why is it not Ok to admit that BY DEFINITION that means it doesn't serve A&M or Mizzou?
Y'all got exactly what you wanted - an easy path through a regular season. I hope you enjoy it, because it is obvious the casual football fans in Texas don't.

Who gives a frick about the Big XII. All I am seeing is all these damn threads started by Missouri and A&M fans about the Big XII. If you're that fricking obsessed with what goes on then GTFO. This is the SEC!!!!
You wonder why you frickers don't get any respect? Quit fricking talking about the Big XII this and Big XII that and maybe just maybe we might take you seriously.

As part of a sports package.
You don't pay the SEC Network directly, you pay the cable company and the cable company pays ESPN. Just like with the B1G how much the cable company pays is determined by if a conference program is in that state. We are YEARS from Al a carte conference networks.
Maybe that is what you are saying though - in some future T Boone dies, the Big 12 GOR expires, and Congress forces Al a carte channels. They suddenly the value of your football programs matters more than your footprint. I can see that maybe happening, but shite that is a decade out at least.

It's an honest question. Take Texas and OU out, and you basically have the old Big East. A bunch of random schools that occasionally have great years but can't be depended on to consistently produce talent or victories. The fact that neither Texas nor OU is dominating that league should be a complete embarrassment to anyone associated with either school. They are the only two schools with nationally respectable tradition, facilities, fan bases, or recruiting prowess. How can fans of those two schools sit back and watch TCU and Baylor dominate them?

Considering that Mizzou has won the East 2 out of 3 years and aTm has played Bama as good or better than anyone, I think they deserve our respect.

Until they win a championship they don't deserve respect. When you choke on the big stage it is hard to have respect for a program that can't get it done when it matters.

And you're going to tell me 59-0 is playing Bama as good as anyone? You've got to be kidding me!!!!!!

Pac12 won't take Texas. Pac12, like the SEC, made its additions and they are set.
The Pac 12 would take Texas in a heartbeat, as would any conference in America. UT is still the crown jewel of conference realignment. No team in America brings the financial value they have in terms of tv market.

Don't click on the thread. It's really not that complicated.

meh, the pac 12 was more than willing to accept texas in 2010 until they realized they would have to deal with the longhorn network. as long as the longhorn network is in place, conferences will have to deal with that

I think he means the Pac won't take Texas without baggage (the LHN, Texas Tech, etc). And we know that is true because they didn't.

None of the three top conferences are going to take Texas with their current wants. Part of the reason the SEC, B1G and PAC are thriving instead of crumbling like the Big 12 is equal revenue sharing which Texas wants no part of at the end of the day.

Since they joined the SEC, they have accomplished as much or more than traditional powers such as LSU, Tennessee, Georgia, and Florida. Mizzou has back to back division titles and aTm has a Heisman winner, and will soon have the best stadium in the conference. Both have wildly exceeded expectations.

The LHN would certainly have to go. UT is a big deal but not enough to completely change the way another conference does business.
