What I don't understand about Driskel is back in 2012 he had progression visibly from A&M to Tennessee to Kentucky and then just fell off a cliff after that.

Yes better competition but his progression NEVER continued after those 3 games.

49% completion rate don't get it done, no matter who you are.

Well some of the board have short memories....I dont. If you recall....2012 started with all out battle for starting qb...and even had both Driskel and Brissett take the first snaps of the opener...even though Driskel had won the position.

That could have/should have been handled differently. Charlie Hamburger had left after sitting on coolers through practices. Driskel saved us in the Texas A&M game for their first ever SEC game at Kyle Field...we were sold out by Slive and he had us in a bad situation with College Gameday on hand (UGA for instance had Mizzou at home for their first SEC game). Our defense kept us in the game and Driskel made some great runs to beat them after being down at the half. Then we had to travel to Knoxvegas with Gameday again being there...but Driskel played very well and we beat the snot out of them really.

What happened later? Fans wanted to see fireworks and high scores. I think Driskel tweaked an ankle somewhere early in the season and he was never quite the same.

Our defense dominated LSU and we did enough to win 14-6, but fans dont like defense and dont understand football. I love to hear pads popping. We had Gillislee running enough yds to beat teams.

We dont Grier/Harris to light it up or try to win games. Take what you can, punt and let the defense win it. If people would remember that it is EXTREMELY difficult in the hard nose SEC to march 80 yds for a score...punt em deep and they will make mistakes. Use exotic run packages to take burden off our qb when its third and more than four yds....or safe passes. McGee is going to help a lot.

I always said he looked very good in those games, and had flashes of success later on.

I think the biggest problem was the coaching change. You can't change the offense that many times without significant dropoff, especially since I think they told Driskel to stop scrambling, which is a big part of Driskel.
