UK's final 2014 enrollment number was 30,062. The university began an ambitious building/renovation project after the Commonwealth took away the 16-campus feeder community college system.
UK and Louisville are now the two flagship state schools and are limited to one campus each. The regional universities such as EKU can have multiple campuses.
UK's planned growth and expansion will continue until a "build-out" enrollment of about 37,000 is reached.
