BR is certainly more of a city with 2 colleges in it along with a community college.

This was my thinking as well but I wanted others to confirm it.

This is true. But its pretty apparent that it started out as a small college town. Downtown-LSU area-Garden District/SoGo area are pretty starkly contrasted against everything else that's been built up on the east side of town along I-10 and I-12.

When I think of BR, I try not to think of Sherwood Forrest, Airline Hwy, and other garbage areas like that.

...and the 11th largest refinery in the world, and the 9th largest port in the world, and the tallest state capitol.
