If Martin was even half as good as you think he is, he sure as hell would have held out for a better job than South Carolina. Great coaches don't go to South Carolina for a 1.6 million dollar salary

Martin will make 1.9 million dollars in year one, $2 million in his second year, $2.1 in year three and 2.2 million over the final two years.
Martin made about 1.1 million plus incentives at Kansas State last year.

5 years for Frank "crazy-eyes" Martin? You guys are stuck with him for 3 more years?

Wow, you guys pay nearly 600k more a year for Martin than LSU does Jones, and you guys are elated over his body of work?
Plus, 1.6 isn't exactly big money when a non traditional power is trying to poach a top tier coach, and you know that. that's why Alabama is throwing around 3 million to try and get the best. If Martin were in that category, he sure as hell wouldn't go to USC for a 500k bump. Even better, if he was worth it, don't you think Kansas State would have offered him a fat raise to stay?
eta: and look, I'm not anti-Martin and think he's a good, not great coach. However this board's incessant shitting on Jones is a laugh riot given what he's accomplished in just 3 years
