Andrew Harrison racial slur discussion *UPDATE*

The OU bros were all expelled and their fraternity was shut down. The South Carolina chick has been suspended indefinitely and is facing expulsion. Both of these incidents happened in a somewhat private setting but was brought to the mainstream due to social media.
Andrew Harrison had the audacity to say it at a nationally televised press conference with a microphone in his face.

He's black. It's not about the word, it's about the implied racism behind it

So black people can't be racist...?
By the way,
Kaminsky isn't black. To say there wasn't any implied racism behind CALLING a white guy (opposite race for those of you who aren't tracking) the same word rather than using it in any generality etc. Nothing should be done though? MLK would be ashamed, all his work undone.

So if the female student from USCe turns out to have African American friends, family etc. then she should be ok?

He should be- if not then the ou guys should raise some hell.

He's almost certainly going pro. Why the frick would he care if he was expelled?
Posted on 4/5/15 at 11:51 am to NorthGAVol
Soft "A", so no expulsion.

I think he should be expelled.
A student athlete is supposed to represent his/her university. Is Kentucky going to tolerate its players using this language towards another student athlete, all while being on national television? The university can make a statement by expelling Harrison.

Look, all it takes is a little bit of common sense to understand the difference in these situations.
The context of these occurrences are totally different. One hints racism and the other doesn't.
I'm not saying it's fair, because interpreting intent is a bitch. But that's life. Everyone of different races have different burdens to carry and all it takes is a slight amount of common sense.
Black people have to be more careful around cops or they might get shot for doing something dumb. White people should avoid saying the n word or making racist jokes. It's easy to do.

Against black people?

Nope. As he shouldn't be. It's sad that we've become so PC that people are willing to call for ruining a guy/girl's life over something like that.
But hey, those guys with the gun charges and domestic violence charges should get a "second chance".

You're too dumb to realise the OU thing wasn't even about the N word. It was about hanging people from trees due to the color of their skin. So yes there's a bit of a difference.

Ohhhh so that's what the frat guys were doing was hanging black folks from trees- huh I just thought they were drunk singing.

The huge difference here is he said that about a white player. You are a dumbass.

You say it takes a little bit of common sense, but your whole statement contains no common sense. In fact it contains a lot of stupidity.
Yes, he should be expelled. What would everyone be saying if a white player said the same thing?
