After making the mistake of redshirting an exceptional talent such as Moreno I don't think Richt will make the same error with Eason.

It would be pointless to redshirt Eason because it's extremely unlikely that he will be in college as a senior. Even if Eason doesn't start in 2016 he might get into games for mop up duty at times and then have 2017 & 2018 as the starter.

Eason might not start in 2016 but he is almost a lock to start in 2017 in which case the 2016 starter will face enormous pressure for fear of losing the position in 2017.

The next few years are going to be interesting.

I would argue that RB's have a limited number of carries in them and putting their talent in the field ASAP benefits everyone. QB's have a bigger learning curve and aren't as susceptible to career ending injuries and could benefit from taking a year to learn the system before flipping the switch in their eligibility.

Not saying he'll see things the same way...just think it's a different animal for QB's.
