Well, this part just makes everything more sickening ...

quote:

November 14, 2008, Johnson, now 24 years old, was sentenced to 12 years in prison for the theft charge and misdemeanor possession charges. Although Johnson could have faced up to 30 years, the sentence of 12 years was chosen because Johnson technically had no criminal record from the Jonesboro shooting.[

Evidently, looking at the dates, he was eligible for parole from state in 2011, but had to serve all of the 4 yrs. in federal prison after that, which is pretty standard - usually no early release from federal - so he should be getting out soon, if I'm reading that correctly? (If he got paroled from state in '11) He should be in his early 30s now. Article says he was 24 in 2008.

I remember when that happened, & when I saw the younger boy, I could not believe he could do anything this horrendous. He looked like a baby. I remember him crying all the time in the court room when the news would show clips, but the older one, Johnson, had a cold, calloused, no emotion expression much of the time. He had zero remorse. I knew he would be a career criminal, if not career serial killer, since he would get out of prison at an early age because of the fricked up law at the time. ... Hopefully, that pos bastard will do something, besides murdering someone, to get put away for much longer when he gets out ... again. Unbelievable.

Eta - His attempt to get a carry permit for his firearm I assume he got illegally, & lying on the application before he went back to prison is extremely disturbing.

Eta 2 - HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PIO!! ... Damn, you're just having all sorts of excitement lately.
