IU fan is prob. eyeballing Greg Marshall, Brad Stevens.

I could see Battle making that call recently and having a commitment in place prior to letting Grant go, I don't think many expected Indiana to make the tourney but now they have to wait until his season is over. That hire doesn't scare me from a SEC standpoint because when has Crean ever recruited down here.

Prohm screams Gotfried.

I like White and Miller, I would be fine with Crean, I would be hesitant with Howland and lord no keep Prohm away.
Howland is not the answer, for anyone. I mean anyone.

I don't get the Brad Stevens thing. The Celtics are playing great, might backdoor their way into the playoffs and are loaded with young guys, cap space and tons of draft picks.
I mean maybe he is going to leave Boston, but NBA people think he is doing a good job and the future is wide open.
College people keep acting like he's been some sort of NBA failure in a dead end place. That just ain't true.

Howland would be nice. From midwest, emphasizes defense and rebounding.

It probably isn't fair, because he did a good job changing that program from Kennedy's Grantesque ball to a real up and down type game, but I just get bad vibes about him.

Brad Stevens would come back to college for 1 maybe 2 jobs.
Duke and maybe UNC. But he would come back for IU

Caliparie did good with the nets as well, we saw how that turned out.

There are multiple multi-page threads on the first page discussing Bama basketball.
So why make another one. You guys always say "Who cares about basketball anyway?" Or is it just because you suck at it that it's easier to say this as a deflection?

He recruits everywhere. Texas, Arizona, New York, Indiana, Missouri, North Carolina, Chicago. Recruiting would not be an issue. Alabama and Auburn would probably have the most talent combined on their rosters in the history of the programs.

Would Crean to Alabama make you cream for Alabama?

So you don't want me to make a basketball thread because I don't care about basketball and I'm deflecting about basketball because we suck by making a thread about our basketball program.
Well, ok.

Funny, every Bama fan I talk to, myself included, is not real high on Prohm. Yet his name remains one of the most often mentioned ones. Why? Convenience?? Yeah, he'd probably take the job before you could get the offer out of your mouth, but I'm not sold on his very brief resume' as a head coach. Murray State is the badass in the OVC. They are SUPPOSED to win it most years. So what has he done? Get upset in the conference tourney and bounced out of the Dance for the last 3 years running.

You are the one that said no one cares about Bama basketball. I was just pointing out that you are a stupid frick.

Cream for Crean
I'd rather have Miller...or Howland.

Yea, I just don't trust Prohm. Again, it is probably because his name has come up so much the last few years, but I just don't trust him.
Most years I would say we'd go the easy way out and just hire him, but with the Pearl thing at Auburn I think they know they have to spend big. That doesn't mean they'll do it well, but I think they'll try and make a splash. Prohm is anti-splash.

Don't want him, I'll be done with Bama bball. He'll be Corch Gotfired redux.
I just pray that IU fans are delusional enough to think Brad Stevens will be there when they finally get rid of Crean.
Gimme Archie Miller.
this ... unless it's someone who's a proven hc - like cal or pitino - i don't want him ... would rather take a shot with someone who has not proven they will be very mediocre at indiana ...

I mean, he went to 2 Sweet 16s and won 25+ games twice. His last 2 years have been disappointing but they are going to the NCAA for the 3rd time in 4 years. He's won 24+ games 7 of his 16 seasons, and he took on total rebuilding jobs at both Marquette and Indiana.
I'm not saying he is Calipari or Izzo, but he's proven a whole heckuva lot more than Prohm or Mikey White.
