Lots of the harassment is dumb and childish. The general sentiments expressed are not. This type of behavior does not belong in a civilized society. In an urban society, acts like this are often anonymous and without repurcussions. This girl is getting some well-deserves e-fame and some e-shame.
Shame is a powerful and under-utilized tool for keeping people in line with important societal norms. I'm all for using it more.
