I see one of two models:

1. The Bryant: coaches until he starts to slip; hangs it up after a couple of sub-par years. Probably 5-7 more years.

2. The Bowden/Paterno: hangs around long after he starts to lose it because firing him is unthinkable. He could hang around for 10-15 more years.

I think #1 is much more likely. I do not see him going anywhere after Bama.

If Bama has learned their lesson from the post-Bear era, he will be replaced by the best coach $$$ can buy. Otherwise, he will be followed by a series of mediocrities who will last 3-4 years apiece.

A ton was learned from the post-Bryant era. I'm pretty sure we won't make being a "Saban guy" a job requirement.

I do think future Bama coaches are in a much better situation than before Saban. While expectations are high, we've proven we can win in the modern era, and aren't a washed up blue blood program. It's been 20 years, and Nebraska has stayed bad. We'll see what Michigan can with Harbaugh. It's very tough to get rid of the stink of failure.
