LSU making a run for the #1 recruiting class in bball. Adding Newman would be insane. That doesn't even factor in the transfer of Victor(top 30 player in the 2014 class)from Arizona.

IMO I think he's waiting to see who leaves UK before making a decision.

I think being closer to home for one more year seems more appealing each day to him. He'd get instant playtime either place, but if Jerry Meyer is correct, UK might be falling behind Kansas. If that happens I like LSU's chances to overtake the Jayhawks.
It depends on if the Harrison twins improve their stock. They probably should have left last year. Booker is likely gone, Ullis is limited due to height, but both twins have seen their stock plummet since last spring.

Yeah. I want to get more info on why Jerry feels it's coming down to a Kansas-LSU battle.

This is exactly what I'm thinking. He's thinking if the twins stay what kind of minutes would I even see at UK (maybe 20 a game)? And Cal has made it very clear he's very loyal to the twins, despite rather mediocre play compared to other guards on the team (Booker and Ulis).
Hell it would even be hard to give him a ton of minutes at LSU next year with Blakeney already coming in and the veteran guards we have. He would start most assuredly, but we have Blakeney coming in as well as Quarterman, Patterson, Hornsby and Gray all returning.

Gray mind as well transfer to a smaller LA school to actually play if we get Newman

No way Gray goes to his fourth school in four years. He will be here next year barring unforeseen issues

Good luck to our next ball boy unless he has a remarkable improvement in his game somewhat like TQ although TQ had the tools just had to adjust to the college game and JJ's style of play but I'm not sure I see his(gray) shooting improving too much since he's a junior and still couldn't shoot the air in a strong wind.

Gray is a junior headed into his senior season, he cant play right away unless he gets a waiver.
More likely you would see one of the bigs who rarely play go...but these are very unlikely scenarios as it would have both Martin and Mickey returning.

Martin and Mickey are gone unless something crazy happens. Mickey was damn near gone last year and Martin's stock is rising. We will need all the big men we can get next yr, their not going anywhere. If anybody goes it should be gray.

There is no chance Gray goes anywhere, he is not on the bottom of the totem pole if you have been watching the games.

I'm not talking about being on the bottom of the totem poll on this year's roster either if you have been reading my post's. He will be useless on next years roster with the guards we will have(assuming we get Newman) if he plays anything like he has this yr

Going to Kentucky. Don't get your hopes up kid.

From every thing our mods report it's a UK and KU battle. That if the Twins leave UK he'll be there, if not, he'll be in Kansas. I'm just glad we are on his list. We need some big basketball croots.

Not getting my hopes up at all. Just following some buzz around Newman. I know we have a shot just don't know how big of a shot.

Latest news doesn't sound good for UK at all. He is hellbent on only playing PG and UK is stacked there.
quote:
From Jerry Meyer:
Reason UK is in bad shape is Newman is set on playing PG and supposedly UK may want him off guard due to bringing in Briscoe and having Ullis back (and possibly a PG twin)
Says Newman is also really tight with both Blakeney and Simmons.
