They were anywhere from average to good last year depending on the game and almost everyone returns in addition to a really stout DB class.
UGA's pass defense went from 59th nationally giving up 228yds/game, 18td's & only 7int. in '13 to 5th in the nation in '14 giving up 170yds/game, 13tds & 16 int.'s....
