As a Razorback fan, we should be used to classes that aren't RANKED highly. We are NOT used to classes that are only 80% full.

You understand the difference though, right? Look at how many classes in the past we just threw a bunch of fliers out on 2 stars and unrated guys just to "get to 25".

Shouldn't you be happy that the 20 we got are better than the 20 we would get in like 2005 or some other time in the past? If 1-20 are all higher quality than the 1-20 in the past, and we don't take fliers on a bunch of unknowns to "save face" and say we signed 25, I'm ok with that. They kept spots open for quality guys and those guys decided to play for their home schools. It happens.

I don't even know if I'd agree with that. IMO, Nutt had classes full of those type C, D recruits all along. He was lazy. He'd rather get the kid we were righting ULM for than work for someone LSU wanted.

I definitely agree that Nutt and Petrino both threw out desperation scholarships, but I don't recall there being an epidemic of that kind of thing. I think with Petrino it was maybe a couple of guys on NSD, and others in the weeks leading up to it. But we do that now.

Absolutely, I'm happy that our 1st 20 recruits are better than our 1st 20 recruits 10 years ago. I'm simply saying that Bert wanted 25, per his lips. We did not get what he set out for. And it wasn't really all that close.

Is that the world ending? No. It's one aspect in his overall job performance which includes about a thousand things. So maybe we could just acknowledge a single reality without it having to represent the whole damn thing. It doesn't. It is one ingredient in the main dish.

What if we just had legit backup plans? How can Florida string Putu along and make him wait for Fulton's decision (or some other scholarship to open up), but we can't get that same kind of traction. It seems like he had no backup plans for any of the pipe dream guys.

I'm totally fine with keeping those spots open, but we should be at a point now where we can find other kids that can contribute as backup plans. It shouldn't be, "I either get these 5 studs or nothing." If we only took studs, we'd have very light recruiting classes.

It just seems like a load of bullshite. First, we're just little old Arkansas and we'll never get the same quality of recruit as the teams actually competing for the SEC. I can come to terms with that. I CAN'T come to terms with our not being able to meet the coach's goal within a 20% margin. Not without at least discussing it. That's a huge miss.

The players we got look good. I just wish we had signed more depth. So does Bert. Clearly.
