Most of Florida's success seems to parallel the state's growth. The population tripled from 1960 to 1990. Air conditioning may be the single greatest thing to happen to UF sports.
I don't know if Donovan retires here or not. He's never closed the door on the NBA, it wouldn't surprise anyone if he decided to give it try one day. I think if he isn't gone within the next 5 or 6 years, chances are much better he probably sticks it out at UF.

Not sure how I would feel about that. Most elite coaches are "hot" for a time and then the game moves on and they're ok but not great. Look at Roy Williams, Bill Self, Bobby Knight, Denny Crum, among others. Donovan plays a similar style to his mentor, Rick Pitino. That pressing, deny the passing lane, get deflections, shoot the 3, style was hot in the 90s and 2000s but teams have adjusted to it now. Elite coaches look at offensive and defensive efficiency and recruit and coach accordingly. Louisville and, to a lesser extent, Florida, have rosters that are extremely quick and athletic, but neither team can shoot and neither has any concept of a good flow in their offensive game. Compare to Cal or Coach K who have players who can shoot and who also instinctively understand the game and are two steps ahead of everyone else on the court.
