Seeing what little there is on the video.. it appeared he could have been subdued.

However.. we have the luxury of armchair qb'ing. The officers had split seconds to make decisions against an individual that couldn't be subdued with a tazer, who used objects to cause serious bodily harm and acted in irrational behavior. Their duty was to protect themselves and the public. It's terrible any time an individual is harmed or even killed if it can be prevented. Perhaps an incident such as this cannot only be used as a teaching tool for law enforcement.. BUT FOR THE PUBLIC AS WELL. In this me, me, me society, it's time folks learned that there are consequences to their actions, sometimes lethal ones and they should act in a more civilized manner towards everyone and a less selfish and egocentric one.

Nail head, meet hammer.

Montgomery had a situation recently where some Faulkner football players decided to pull a home invasion robbery and one wound up shot dead by the resident.

In statements to the media, his father talked about how his son was a good guy, loved people, all the stuff you hear parents say but he also said "Just like the guy in Missouri and the guy in New York, my son would be alive if he wasn't breaking the law." and he was spot-on.

Maybe this new incident wasn't a justified shooting, maybe it was but there is one indisputable fact:

If he had not been throwing rocks at them he'd be alive right now. His poor choices were more responsible for his death than any other factor.
