I'm somewhat envious of people who were in school for the BCG years.

I was there for Barone and Watkins. Students showed up for the Texas game and maybe Kansas. Reed was so empty most games that you could hear what Melvin was yelling at players.

Can't expect big crowds for weak ball, but it's always surprised me how many people just don't use their sports passes or tickets. I'm not even a big badketball fan, but I'd go every now and then just because I had paid for an all sports pass.

The problem isn't just that we're football first. The game isn't the only reason people show up for football; it's a massive social and cultural event. Basketball...is just the game.

If they want students to show up for mundane match ups, they'd seriously have to offer free food, parking lot entertainment, or something.

Side question: I know LSU and other schools have experimented with rewards points for ATTENDING events, not just purchasing passes. Has A&M done anything like that? "Student TMF" was the bold new idea when I was in school.
