how the hell is goodwin in for 12 years the other guys aren't?.... really sh*tty lawyer?... didn't take a plea deal?... or what?

He went to trial, while the others took a 3 year deal. However, the DA offered him 21 years or go to trial. Not sure why the DA went after Goodwin so much harder.

Wouldn't be shocked if it had to do with the extent of Godwin's involvement.

If Kitchens and Mosley were tag alongs and not primary instigator I could see a DA going easier on them. Especially if they agreed to testify, were cooperative and had a solid lawyer.
