No. Les is a better recruiter, and for better or worse, has the quirky personality that keeps LSU in the news--the guy's got star power, not a bad thing to have in a league with Nick Saban in it. Les also picks up great assistants: Wilson, Chavis, Cameron, Orgeron. He attracts the kind of talent that can make up for his own deficits as a game day coach. That said, I like Bulimia; I said he was a great Hog hire from day one. I think he'll be the kind of 8-10 wins per year guy Hog fans deserve, and it wouldn't surprise me if Arky wins an SEC West crown sometime in the next 4-5 years. Make that 5-6 years.
I wish I were an LSU fan, as they are going to year in and year out, get better talent than will Arkansas. This has nothing to do with Miles vs Bielema, but LSU vs Arkansas. As for the coaches, I would take either one and be happy.

In 2012 Arky hired Bielema on a 6-year contract as $3.2 million per year. Before hiring him they offered Les Miles 5 years at $5.5 million per year. Arky was willing to pay Miles $2.3 million per year more than the guy they decided on. LSU chose to extend Miles with a raise to $4.4 million. I assume they could have hired Bielema for the same $3.2 million that Arky paid him. While your question is hypothetical, that pretty much answers the question if it was posed to the 2 AD's for whom that question was not hypothetical.

I have no problem with Bielema and think he is a good HC.

But Les Miles is a special HC. I am an LSU fan for 54 seasons and Les is my favorite LSU HC. I believe LSU will be markedly better in 2015 than we were in 2014.
