“I remember when I was coaching down at Florida,” Meyer said last year, “we would always lose kids in recruiting battles to Clemson. I would tell my coaches that we shouldn’t be losing kids to Clemson.”

“Charlie Strong responded, ‘Coach have you ever actually been to Clemson?’ I hadn’t,” Meyer recalled. “But I’ll tell you what, I’ve been here now and I get it. This is an exceptional, special place.”

I've been and I really liked it. Stadium and gameday atmosphere had more on an SEC feel to it than being at a Gamecock game.

The town is too small for my liking but I get the appeal.

Also the ATL comment is huge, it is only about an 80 minute drive to DT ATL. Not bad for a kid who wants to get out of big city life and go somewhere close that feels like a "family" environment that still has a big time college football atmosphere.

I don't see how it is hard to get.

The only downside I see for Clemson is the players don't get to go up against top competition week in and week out to better themselves.

beat me to it. even when Clemson was going 8-5, it still always landed a 5* and a couple of 4*'s from Florida
