***Here are a few notes on 5-star, 2016 Calvary Baptist (Shreveport, La.) QB Shea Patterson.
1. He is one of 5 children and will be the fourth to have played college athletics. His older brother, Sean Jr., was a QB at Duquesne University. He has two older sisters, one played college volleyball, the other college basketball. His younger brother, Nick, is in seventh grade and is already 6-feet tall and was an EastBay Youth All-American last year as a TE/DE.
2. Shea's grandfather, the late George Patterson, played in the NBA. He was drafted in 1961 by the Cincinnati Royals and would eventually play for the Detroit Pistons. He was also picked by the Milwaukee Bucks in the 1968 expansion draft.
3. Shea was born in Ohio, lived for a few years in South Texas and eventually settled down in Shreveport, La.
4. Shea is a shortstop for his high school baseball team and is considered by many as a draftable prospect.
5. Shea is an early enrollee, meaning he will be on the college campus of his choice next January.
