"He's excited about all the school that are still in the running at this point, that would be Alabama, Clemson, Georgia and Georgia Tech," Myricks said.

"I think these visits will be the deciding point for him. They're more than about what schools can offer. All of them pretty much offer a great opportunity, great football, great education and great football environments. Now it's about fit. You want to spend more time with the players and coaches and ask yourself, 'How does this place feel to me?'"

Carter played more of a 3-technique tackle at Jackson, lining up between the guard and tackle, for the Red Devils. He could also line up on the offensive tackle (4-technique).

"Whether they'd use him as a 5-technique (more toward the end), 4 or 3, he's athletic enough to where he can play all of them and he's big enough to where he can play over the nose," Myricks said. "I think he likes the idea of playing over a tackle somewhere."

Myricks has plenty of praise for his star lineman. Bo Davis and Jeremy Pruitt are the prime recruiters for Carter.

"He's a great kid and a fantastic player," Myricks said. "He comes from a great home. He's a really humble, down to earth kid with an incredible work ethic."

But he also knows that the next week and a half could be stressful.

"He's going to wait until Signing Day and let everybody know what he's thinking and how he's feeling," Myricks said. "At this point, I don't envy the kid because it is a huge decision with a lot of pressure for a 17-year-old."
