People assume Barrow WANTS to go back to coaching this soon. Dealing with a sick parent is tough.

Easy to assume when the man is going to interviews, and if that is the reason for him not taking the job is fine with me.

is there any chance he comes on board, but maybe in a different position?
No. On field slots are full again.

With all these "Solid Recruiters" we are getting on the coaching staff, I hope we start to get some "Solid Recruiting classes" next year.

But I think I'm just getting tired of recruiters at Auburn

Agreed we need some people that will coach the talent we have now. Granted I'd love to see some awesome talent coming in. But recruiting is gonna take time to pat off. We need some position coaches that really know how to coach to get what we already have up to a higher standard.

We've had top 10 classes each of the past 6 years. What we need is for these recruiters to develop some DAMN talent.

From everything I can put together, Barrow just decided to give it another year w/ his Mom. That is based off of the # of people who have said it was Barrow, plus the time since offer and lack of info.

We could do worse than LT. He will help lock down Mobile and some other areas. We have T-Rob for S. FL, and how many Miami kids will we get to leave anyway? IF T-Rob can get us 3-4 each year, and we begin to do better elsewhere as a result of LT, I will be happy

Muschamp will have to make sure we are coaching them up.

Most of the top recruits were on the offensive side of the ball though. We've been getting our clocks cleaned in defensive recruiting.

I do however think good fundamentals is desperately needed too.

I agree. I think more emphasis needs to be put in recruiting the D side of the ball. It is apparent that Gus feels the same way.

I just hope bama doesn't go out and hire Barrow to coach their secondary. That would suck.

That would not make sense given they just lost their 2 LB coaches.

They could slide Kirby back to LB coach.

My God reading the responses in this thread made me realize our fan base is spoiled as shite.

This is a great hire. Don't let Barrow get in the way of your happiness.

I think the hires are relatively similar. I've honestly never heard of Barrow as a coach until we were rumored to get him, so I'm guessing he's no mastermind. They are both great recruiters, but we don't need Boom, T-Rob, and Barrow all recruiting SoFla. I'd rather Thompson who can get guys close to home

How long until the "we didn't really want him" posts start popping up from the bammers?
