Let's not forget that Ohio State won 6 or 7 straight B1G titles and had one transition season before Myer got there because of Tressel and then the NCAA allowed two full coaching staffs, so that Myer and his staff could recruit, while Fickell and his staff prepared for the bowl game. Tressel is a good coach and he built OSU to a contender in a relatively weak conference. The NCAA was a hiccup and Urban took the reigns and did a damn good job. But OSU was not in the dumps during Tressel's years and they weren't when Meyer took over.

Now, I will say Urban has built a stronger, more physical team than Tressel built and Urban brought his offensive mind and QB developement that got them an NC last night.
