Classic. There is a guy on the STL PSD bashing every1 who dislikes Stacy Elliot

MUtigers 64, says he is #64 in a throwback picture, challenging dudes to fights.

Thanks. Saw that. That dude's attitude is probably a good indication of why the teams sucked so bad back then. He gave his name and it's someone I've never heard of. Maybe I should know him. But I don't. Harrison or something.

Damn, we just need to purge ourselves of the late 80's and early 90's. So not only does this poster from STLPD say he was on those teams, but I never put 2 and 2 together that Elliott and Ofodile would have been on the same team together.

pretty entertaining thread.

Once again all of this can be explained in my signature.

This is the answer to most everything. Decisions have consequences, and we've been paying the price for those decisions for a long, long while.
I'm not trying to be that guy, but the Kim Anderson hire (given: true son, good guy, etc.) doesn't give me much hope for Alden and the Pinkel replacement. He's stuck out on Painter (which may have been okay), Howland, Marshall and went with the Div 2 coach.
The Pinkel replacement is going to be the most important hire in the history of Mizzou athletics given what the new guy will be inheriting and I think we'll need to make a move and break the bank on a great hire that can get the studs to Columbia instead of coaching the guys we can get to a high level if we ever hope to win conference championships let alone national championships.
NC winners (and SEC winners for that matter) are an exclusive group of football programs, and getting into that group is probably the most difficult undertaking in all of sports, I don't think we can do it with the young up and comer from the MAC.

Nobody is "getting the studs" to CoMo until we improve our facilities, budget etc immensely. Even then it will de extremely difficult because our fanbase is pretty weak, Missouri doesn't produce much talent and our history is average at best.
We really need to have everything fall into place and earn a playoff bud in the next few years if we want any hope of truly taking the next step.

I don't even think it's that. Facilities I'll agree with, but making an appearance doesn't guarantee anything. frick, kansas made a BCS game and you see how that went.
Three years ago, most here would have said getting to Atlanta would change the appearance of Mizzou on the recruiting trail. We've been twice, and not much has changed. We need a coach (after Pinkel decides it's his time to step down) that has won a P5 conference championship before. I think that has more to do with winning than most anything else.
Anything else is like asking a kid to dedicate 3-4 years of his life listening to a guy that drives up in a Hyundai tell them how to become a multimillionaire.

IDK, good luck with that. UT and UF couldn't even accomplish that.

Don't think it's as important for them since they've got the tradition (UT more than UF, but it's there.)
Hopefully the timing is right when it happens, I think it's very important.

Whoever we get, we are going to have to continue to invest heavily in infrastructure. There should be a crane at all times around the football facilities.

I dont know why we just dont build a new, state of the art stadium?
We dont have to go full Aggie on it but if Baylor can.......

hoping Bowtiger will be the dude to get us the staff in place to make it happen, at least he's on campus, so there is some hope it may happen in my lifetime.

Another option is if the Rams stay and get that new Stadium. Play one game a year in KC and STL.

Not sure if you caught my post in another thread, but MUtigers64 is former MU player Chris Harrison, a former teammate of Stacy Elliot.
In the meantime, he's gone back to find out the truth. He's contacted a mutual friend and found out, indeed, Stacey IS doing all those things he got upset with other posters about.
He as now apologized and seems truly shocked by Stacy's behavior.

I have to agree with this, unfortunately. What is the population of the columbia area? It seems like our fanbase is mainly kc and stl. But columbia is a fairly good sized city, and I don't understand why more mid-mo people don't go to football and basketball games. Basketball especially. Why can we only manage to get 7000 people to show up at basketball games?

Doubt it's possible, but I'd love to see some demographics of where the fans that attend come from.
