I mean, why is Freeze selling a false dream. Just doesn't seem right. Offered the one kid just to get RN
MURFREESBORO – Former Blackman running I'Tavius Mathers is leaving Ole Miss after three seasons, he confirmed in a text message Friday night.
Mathers, a former Tennessee Gatorade Football Player of the Year and Tennessee Titans Mr. Football winner, declined any further comment.
Mathers, a 5-foot-11, 190-pound junior, will have one year of eligibility remaining. He will have to sit out one season if he remains in FBS. He can play immediately if he transfers to an FCS school or lower.
Mathers had 67 carries for 290 yards — a career low — in 2014 at Ole Miss. He finished his career with the Rebels with 189 carries for 1,061 yards and seven rushing touchdowns. He also had 18 catches for 141 yards.
He led Ole Miss with 26 rushing yards on seven carries in the Rebels' 42-3 loss to TCU in the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl.
Mathers is the second Ole Miss running back to transfer from the SEC school. Several media oulets have reported that former Memphis Whitehaven running back Mark Dodson is leaving Ole Miss for Memphis.
Mathers rushed for 5,569 yards on 584 carries for his career at Blackman with 65 rushing touchdowns. He was the first running back in Rutherford County history to run for 2,000 yards in a 10-game regular season when he accomplished the feat in 2010.
He was on pace to better that feat in 2011 until he suffered a toe injury in Week 8.

Running back Mark Dodson and safety David Kamara are both expected to leave the program, sources confirmed to the Clarion-Ledger. The Ole Miss Spirit first reported the story.
Both were members of the class of 2013 and will have three years left to play two.
Dodson, a former four-star prospect from Memphis, ran for 249 yards and four touchdowns in 2014. But Dodson fell behind in a crowded backfield, carrying the ball 19 times in eight SEC games and not at all in the Peach Bowl. Ole Miss returns five other scholarship running backs for 2015 plus has recruited four-star back Eric Swinney.
Dodson also returned nine kickoffs for 236 yards this season.
Kamara is best known as part of the Grayson Five, a group of Robert Nkemdiche's friends that were expected to follow him to a college campus. Kamara was the only one who ended up signing with Ole Miss. A three-star prospect, Kamara struggled to establish much of a role in Ole Miss' secondary and made two tackles in 14 career games. One of those came this season, against Louisiana-Lafayette. He did not play in Ole Miss' final three games.
The moves should help Ole Miss' crowded scholarship situation. The Rebels had a small senior class and came into the fall expecting to be able to sign only 15 players in this signing class, but have 16 current commitments.
Memphis radio personality Greg Gaston is reporting that Dodson will transfer to hometown Memphis.
This all pretty funny after Ole Miss fans obsessing about the Tennessee players that left.

You can't use the slogan that was made up for you against some one else.
It would be like LSU calling someone else corndogs.
Or
Florida calling someone else jorts.
Does not compute.

I just hope a Freeze doesn't tell him to kick rocks after they discover he's a bust.
Freeze is all about building young men

Huge Miss St. Fan here. At least they have honor and morals with the way they treat their recruits.

You are being a little harsh on Ole Miss. This was literally their greatest season since the invention of the color TV. Let them have their day in the sun. Finishing at 9-3, 3rd in the SEC West and getting curb stomped in the Peach Bowl only happens once every fifty years literally for them. Congrats Ole Miss you guys deserve everything you got this year and I'm proud of you.
