It's about the history. The Cards go back over a century. They've provided countless division and league titles and a good chunk of World Series titles.
The Rams have only been here a short time in comparison and have just never felt like ours. It would be like adopting a child but they were 27 years old.
And the Cards have had their lean years. Look at the 70's and most of the 90's. Love them or hate them but the new ownership and Tony Larussa really changed the culture and climate int he clubhouse from the late 90's on.

As a Chiefs fan I never really warmed to the Rams. It's a sort of 'hope they do well, but if not, oh well' kind of feeling. I have never been to a Rams game and have never had the desire to go. A friend (big Cards fan and Chiefs fan) went once and told me he saw a guy reading a newspaper in the stands. He said the energy is nothing like a game at Arrowhead.
The Rams have always felt like a team that changed cities and might change again. I cannot imagine how it would affect me if the Chiefs moved. I would probably swear off the NFL.
