What if they are the beneficiary of nepotism and don't have any real accomplishments to speak of other than being born to a coach?

He coached for his dad at 3 places (KC, Washington, & San Diego). He was hired as OC by both the Jets and the Rams as well...last time I checked, NFL teams aren't gonna hire offensive coordinators based on who your daddy is. He was also interviewed for an NFL head coaching job. While his dad may have gotten him his start in coaching, especially in the NFL, his gigs as OC for 2 different NFL teams he got on his own...

He was a QB at UF under Spurrier and he's also coached at the collegiate level in addition to the NFL. No hire is ever a guarantee but, with the offense that UGA traditionally runs, I think he'll be a good fit.

You apparently don't watch enough football. Football at every level down to High School is nepotism driven. Those guys get opportunities because of their names.

The Grudens, the Schottenheimer, Wade Phillips, The Ryans, the Spurriers, the Kiffins, the Shanahans, the Smiths, the Harbaughs, Andy Reid's son, the Fassells, Jeff Fisher tried to hire his kin but the Titans said no, the Tices, the Carrolls, the Moras, the Shulas. It goes on and on and on and on. Check out their first gigs. Many didn't climb any sort of ladder of achievement.
